There is no getting to SILENCE. New MJ Awakening Pointer
August 15, 2018

there is a voice that doesnt use words rumi

Every moment you’re not thinking, you ARE Silence. And in Silence, there are no words, which means there are no problems, no fears, no anxiety, no criticisms, no judgments, no nothing. Just Silence.

“Oh, this is just escapism…” says the mind. Blah, blah, blah… more mind noise, more “not Silence.”

You can’t think your way to Silence.

You can only BE Silence.

“Oh, but it’s not easy to quiet the mind.” Blah, blah, blah… more noise. “But I have responsibilities that require thinking…” Blah, blah, blah…

Being Silence means being Silence and nothing else.

Is it possible for AWARENESS to be DISTURBED? New MJ Awakening Blog
July 31, 2018

emotional pain not mandatory

Is Awareness ever disturbed? Or is it aware of disturbance? In other words, which actually changes, Awareness or that which it is presently perceiving?

For example, you seem to be upset about something. But look closer. Is Awareness actually upset or is it aware of a feeling of being upset arising? The mind may claim, Who cares, I’m suffering!” But noticing this subtle but crucial distinction can make ALL the difference!

Once you realize you are what is aware of the feeling, then you are not attached to it, no longer taking it personally in any way, and are free to allow the feeling to be as it is.

And through your loving total acceptance of it, the lack of making it into a problem, the willingness to allow it as much time and space as it needs without any kind of agenda whatsoever, the contracted pain energy is healed/transmuted back into its natural stateless state, ever free boundless Awareness.

Does CHANGE bring up fear in you? New MJ Awakening Blog
July 4, 2018

everything changes cesslessly

That life is endlessly changing (and thus not controlable as how do you control change?) bring up any fear/resistance in you?

What a great opportunity to be present with this fear/resistance to change. Why? Because EVERYTHING, without exception, is made of change.

You, me, the stars, the sky, the earth, family members, pets, all of it… is ever changing… that’s its nature.

everyone changes ceaselessly

There is absolutely nothing, literally NOTHING, to hold on to.

LIFE IS MADE OF CHANGE.

Let everything go… all of it… breathe and release as you drop into timeless presence here/now.

Is that which is aware of every thought itself a thought? New MJ Awakening Blog

Presence IS and is not attached to thoughts, which come and go.

Presence is timeless… thoughts are time.

Notice this.

Keep silently noticing.

What is aware of every thought that arises?

Is that which is aware of every thought itself a thought?

Just-Float1

As I tune into/feel my mind’s attention, I notice it jumps around like a frog from one water lily to the next, i.e., one thought to the next. Endlessly.

What does this have to do with me? Do I jump around? Have I ever moved? Or is everything else moving but me?

Objects exist in duality… you are the changeless space of love they come and go in. New MJ Awakening Blog

LETTING GO OF ALL OBJECTS

This morning as I awoke, I found myself spontaneously meditating on how strongly the mind is attached to physical objects in this world of infinite forms. I remember as a child dreaming of getting a new toy and believing once I had it I could play with it whenever I wanted and be happy… ha!

The realization today is about the importance of knowing clearly that no physical object (person, place, or thing) has the power to truly bring us happiness. Because the belief that ANY object has the power to give me happiness means that at some level I feel lack and believe this object will fill/take away that lack. But is this true? Can an object ever truly fulfill me?

When I see for myself that they can’t, because the root sense of “lack” is still present even after I acquire the object, then the only thing to do is drop into my heart, into presence, and go straight to this feeling of lack. To really be present with it. To feel its pain and to simply love it, as it is. That’s it.

So instead of reacting to the sense of lack, arguing with it, or trying to fix it, I am simply giving it space and love…. space and love….space and love.

The Fear of Death. New MJ Awakening Blog
January 25, 2018

dead rose

“The fear of death is the beginning of understanding. Seeking is simply clinging to various concepts, goals, things, methods, and paths that seem to promise relief from death, from the knowledge of death, and from all suffering, which is separation and death.

THE MAN WHO KNOWS THERE IS NO RELIEF FROM DEATH UNDERSTANDS. HE KNOWS THAT THAT WHICH SEEKS RELIEF FROM DEATH MUST DIE. THUS, HIS SEEKING COMES TO AN END.

His fear, which is resistance to death, ends. He ceases to operate as the one who must die and who seeks release from death. He abides in understanding, which is prior to the one who must die.”

-Adi Da Samraj

MICHAEL: Sometimes we have to go on a “journey,” only to end up back where we started, but with new eyes. I was familiar with Adi Da, but the essence of his teaching escaped me the first time around (which is understandable, as he put out many books on many topics over his lifetime).

However, I now realize what his profound and almost unheard of core teaching was: that all our gestures, every activity the mind/body concocts is for the single purpose of distracting oneself from the elephant in the room: DEATH.

Death hangs like a sword over our neck every second, yet because that thought is so terrifying, the mind does everything it can to divert our attention to “creating a life for ourselves” so as to avoid dealing directly with it. Thus, it seeks distraction via entertainment, food, sex, money, relationships, a spiritual journey, etc. virtually non-stop.

However, this does not resolve the core fear, but rather just attempts to cover it up. Much like a child who covers their own eyes in hopes that this futile gesture prevents the “boogeyman” from seeing them. We are only fooling ourselves.

It turns out that our starting assumption, that we are the body who was born and will die, MUST be challenged one way or another. Meaning, either you are the body and you will die, or you are not. Which is it? Are you sure? And if you are not sure, why assume you are the body?

I capitalized the 2nd paragraph in the Adi Da quote above, because it’s the realization that there is nothing to be done about death of the body that, paradoxically, brings unfounded peace, joy and liberation. In other words, you finally, for the first time in your life, stop running from death.

This is an energetic experience, not just mental. Something in you physically relaxes. It’s a total surrendering. It’s a giving to death what belongs to death because it is seen that death has nothing to do with you… and never did.
