Your body is in the dream…

Where you’re looking from is not.

WHAT YOU ARE HAS NEVER CHANGED

All thoughts, feelings, emotions, moods, perceptions, ideas, stories, experiences come and go. But does that which is eternally True come or go?

The pictures are forever changing, but the canvas on which they appear is timeless. In Reality nothing has ever changed. Merely the appearance of change. Temporary, fleeting, illusory images… never actually reaching Reality. Like moving a 4th of July sparkler in a circular motion really fast at night appears to make a circle. But is there actually a real, independent thing called a circle there? Or is it a made up word for a made up appearance?

Here and gone, here and gone… and btw, where exactly is here?? When exactly is now?? What was “here” before the body was born is what is “here” now and will be after the body is gone.

Sri Nisargadatta called it the Absolute. The changeless. Prior to Consciousness. What You are has never changed.

TRUTH, the Infinite, is changeless. New MJ Awakening Blog

TRUTH, the Infinite, is changeless.

Thoughts are never not changing.

Thus whenever confusion/suffering arises, I know I am in thought and not Infinite, changeless, Presence.

What to do? Notice this!

Oh, I imagined I was lacking in some way… that I needed something to be complete, to be whole… ha ha, silly me!”

The way the illusion of “selfing” works is thusly… New MJ Awakening Blog

The way the illusion of “selfing” works is thusly: the brain processes information non-stop 24/7 and has to decide what is a threat and what is useful. But to whom is all this info. relevant to??

The answer is to the fictitious, purely mental “me” that I have mistakenly identified myself as. But, where did this “me” come from in the first place? Was it there at birth? No. It didn’t show up until around the age of 1-1 1/2 years old.

Once this sense of a separate self shows up, Consciousness automatically identifies with it, and our suffering/confusion/sense of separation/seeking begins. Thus, awakening is realizing that you, Consciousness, are intrinsically whole and cannot be this sense of separation, regardless of how “real” the illusion may feel/seem. Note that the brain did nothing wrong; if it wasn’t suppose to create this sense of a “false me,” it would not appear to happen.

Remember, an appearance is NOT the actual. The actual is changeless. An appearance changes, and thus cannot be your true nature. The good news is that just because an illusion arises doesn’t mean it can’t be seen through and recognized for what it is; an apparent modification of that which is eternally unmodifiable.

The view out your eyes is ever-changing, but what about THAT which has viewed every second?? New MJ Awakening Blog

viewfinder

Imagine you were able to take a photograph every second of your life. From the moment you were born until right now. And we went to a park and laid out every photo in front of you as you continue to take pictures in real time, even now.

What we would see is every photo would be different in one way or another. BUT, will YOU, the ever present awareness that has been looking through the viewfinder upon the body’s birth and is still looking through it now as you read these words… has that one ever changed or not been there??

Does what you inherently are change, yes or no? (Your answer determines your experience of Life.) New MJ Awakening Blog

The Consciousness that is aware of your dream state… is it a different Consciousness that is aware of your waking state?

In other words, is THAT which was aware of last night’s dream different or the same as that which is aware that you are reading these words now?

If, upon investigation, it is realized that the Consciousness that was aware of last night’s dream is the same Consciousness that is aware of this moment, then neither the dream nor what is appearing now is your true nature, as both come and go. (When you are in the dream world, where is the waking state? When you are in the waking state, where is the dream world?)

Has what you are (and note we are not defining what you are, only THAT you are) ever changed? Body changes, thoughts change, feelings change, circumstances change, people change, moods change, experiences change, but has that which has witnessed every second of time, has that ever changed?

Yes or No?

The freedom is in how definitive your answer is. If there is still doubt, keep silently observing to see if what you inherently are ever changes. Because if it doesn’t, then nothing you experience can ever harm you. Why? Because if you are changeless, then nothing has the ability to change you (unless you believe it does… and even then it is only a belief, and not a fact that you’ve changed. Yes, the body can be harmed, but are you the body or what is changelessly aware of it?)

Note that you can spend days or even weeks or more on this question. “Do I change or don’t I?” Take as much time as you need, as your answer determines how you experience life. The important thing is to have all doubts removed and be 100% clear on whichever is your honest answer.

Good luck trying to NOT be it!!!!
April 19, 2012

Yep, it’s staring us all right in the kisser and we just don’t want to FULL STOP and look directly at it. Look at what? THIS!! THIS what!? THIS experience! Something is aware of this moment! Not as a thought, but in what the thought is appearing in. Emptiness is one word for it, but to the mind this doesn’t sound sexy enough! Changeless is another word. However, no word does the job since it’s not a concept. Yet, it is what knows ALL concepts. And the best part is you already are this! In fact, ironically, good luck trying to NOT be it!!!! 🙂
