Michael Jeffreys “It’s total relaxation… something the “me” cannot do.” 6-24-20 Satsang
SATSANG NOTES
1. It’s total relaxation… something the “me” cannot do.
2. The idea that this moment is already whole and complete, has to be swept aside so the “me” can fix it.
3. MICHAEL: Who cares about the me? ALICE: (With a big smile) The me!
4. This moment is already whole and complete, so you can’t do anything about that!
5. The “me” IS stress. There’s no such thing as a truly at peace “me.”
6. Where you’re looking FROM is Peace.
7. And so the freedom is when you no longer feed the me, like you no longer feed Santa. “Santa” is a fictional character… so is the “me,” but that’s not how we hold it.
8. This “me” needs your cooperation, it needs your interest to keep running.
9. STORY is the only way the “me” can keep itself alive. No story, no me.
10. There’s just this moment. This is it. Nothing else is happening but this…
11. Life does all means there’s no extra room for a “doer.” It would be like trying to blow in the air to help the wind!? Life is doing all the movements. “Look how hard I’m blowing. Nobody appreciates how much I’m blowing!” Well, did the wind ask you to help it blow??
12. There’s no Freedom in story.
13. There is no one. There’s just Life, Just Wholeness, appearing as Everything.

Michael Jeffreys “What is HEARING these words right now?” 6-17-20 Satsang
SATSANG NOTES
1. We think of ourselves… we’re tied into this name. It’s helpful to remember that this name is a word, it’s a sound. And a sound, or a name, is not what’s HEARING my words right now.
2. That which is HEARING my words has no name! We use pointers like Brahman, or The Tao, or Source, but those are names too. Even Consciousness is a word, so we have to go beyond even the word Consciousness to what is HEARING? What is SEEING? And what is hearing and what is seeing is not a “thing.”
3. This Consciousness, this Awareness is NOT created. Nobody’s doing it.
4. And this Conscious-Awareness is what we’re forgetting every single time we start from STORY. Cause when I start from story I’m starting from a “me.” And a “me” is a something, it’s an idea, a concept.
And so I’ve already left Consciousness (NOT REALLY!!), but in my story I’ve forgotten my true nature and I’m now believing that I’m this separate entity. I’m a wave, and I have to get back to Ocean. That’s all story! There’s ONLY Ocean. The waves are just an appearance in the Ocean… but it’s all water.
5. Simple Clarity, that’s all.
6. The mind is a labeling machine. It’s not up to the mind to stop labeling, because that’s what the mind does. It’s up to us to understand, to have clarity, that we’re not the mind, just the witness.
7. Here’s the deeper question… the first person that decided to call this planet Earth… where did they get that name from? Do you see how the mind goes silent when I ask such a question? In a way, I’m asking where did the very first spoken word… how did that happen? Where did that word come from? How did it show up? This is a very profound and deep question.
ATMAN: In this ever-changing world there is one changeless being as witness of these changes. This permanent ever-seeing being is Atman.
SEEN: This comprises everything other than Atman, such as objects of the senses, the senses, the mind, the Buddhi (intellect).
MICHAEL: Discriminate between the seer and the seen. Habitually mistaking ourselves for the seen, for a changing appearance, we suffer because what changes isn’t stable. Atman has no parts. It is whole and complete. Keep your attention silently within on the changeless Atman, and let the impersonal dream unfold as its destined and be happy.

Michael Jeffreys “There’s no personal in Universal.” 6-10-20 Satsang
SATSANG NOTES
1. Nothing is personal. You have a thought, I have a thought.
You’ve had jealousy, I’ve had jealousy. We’ve all had jealousy.
Nobody owns jealousy.
2. Even if “you” feel it’s personal, that quality of being “you”… THAT’S not personal, because we all have it.
3. You don’t need to believe your thoughts… Why do you need to believe your thoughts? We go to our thoughts because we believe they have value.
4. What’s aware of what you just said?
5. Nothing is what you think it is. That’s the problem with going to your mind and conceptualizing something. It ain’t really that way! It’s one perspective of potentially thousands of perspectives, or millions. And yet we get identified with that one perspective and say, “This is how it is.”
6. It’s amazing how much suffering we’re willing to endure to hang
on to our identity. At a certain point, it can dawn on you, it’s
too big a price to pay.
7. If you have a story, you’re going to defend it.
8. The hardest thing to accept is that you’re already whole and complete.
9. Your thoughts don’t know who you are.
10. What you are was not born.
11. The entity/persona (not the body) that you believe you are… how did it get here?
12. You don’t know how you got here because there isn’t anything actually here.
