Being present with whatever is here/now. New MJ Awakening Blog

practice being present

BEING PRESENT WITH WHATEVER IS HERE/NOW

It’s our inability to be present with what is, however it’s appearing, that’s the cause of our suffering. This includes thinking. You can either drift off into past-future with thinking, i.e., go along with the thought, or you can be present with whatever thought is currently arising. See the difference?

As Awareness you’re clear that you’re simply witnessing a thought, which came and will go. Whereas as the imaginary “me” you go along with the thought and into another dream of what’s not happening. When you catch yourself getting lost in thought, simply bring your attention back to here/now.

Awareness never goes anywhere. Mind is always changing. Stay home. Be present with whatever is here. It’s ALL you… give your love to everything and see what happens.

JUST THIS: BOTH ORDINARY & HOLY

There’s only what’s here/now in your direct experience. It’s the sense that there must be more than ‘just this’ that the mind throws up that keeps one seeking.

But no, there’s only ever just this, just whatever is happening, completely ordinary and divinely holy. Why? Because there’s nothing else.

No past, no future. Only ever this moment, however it’s appearing. Nothing to hold to. Nothing to let go of.

When we identify with/as ANYTHING we suffer. New MJ Awakening Blog

BEING, You, has no identity.

Thus when we identify with/as ANYTHING we suffer. We are imagining we are something we are not.

MICHAEL: If every person in the world loved you, but you did not know God’s love directly, pure love that’s not personal in any way, love that comes only and wholly from your inner Beingness, you’d still be miserable deep down inside.

We are addicted to COMPLAINING. New MJ Awakening Blog

WE ARE ADDICTED TO COMPLAINING

As a species we are addicted to complaining. Have you noticed this?
Unlike animals, complaining seems so natural to human beings that we continually engage in it without much thought.

We learned to complain when we were young children and haven’t stopped since. We picked up the habit from our parents who in turn picked it up from their parents. And we are passing it on to our children who will then pass it on to their children. Society is built on complaining… practically everyone does it pretty much nonstop.

This doesn’t mean you can’t ask the cashier at Ralph’s to remove the extra item he inadvertently charged you for. It just means you have no interest in complaining about it to him or yourself. You simply ask for what what you want, sans complaining. For many, they don’t know how to ask for what they want without complaining, as if you can’t do the one without the other.

Complaining is so ingrained in us, so part of the apparent human condition, that to not be able to complain almost feels wrong. Complaining has become our identity. Who would I be without my complaints?

And yet it’s this compulsive need to complain that keeps us stuck in a perpetually unfulfilled life. How can we love life if we are constantly complaining about it? The answer is we can’t. We can’t be truly free until we are free from complaining… about anything.

What would it be like to go one day without complaining inwardly or outwardly about anything? What would it be like to go one hour without complaining inwardly or outwardly about anything? What would it be like to go one minute without complaining inwardly or outwardly about anything? What would it be like to live a complaint free life? Heaven on Earth.

Q: What is the cause of inner anxiety?

A: Believing something that isn’t real.

Being Authentic. New MJ Awakening Blog

BEING AUTHENTIC

The deeper you go into Self-realization, the more you realize being authentic is more important than wanting to be liked. People come and go in your life. One day they like you, the next they don’t.

I think what Byron Katie says holds true here: “What you think of me is none of my business.”

We cannot control what others think of us. However, we can control how AUTHENTIC we’re being in each moment.

Being authentic, to me, simply means you speak from your heart. I notice that when I’m being authentic with someone, I can say pretty much anything and they won’t get offended because they feel it’s not coming from ego/personal agenda.

Rather, it’s coming from love. From the profound realization what we are all in this together. That everyone is doing the best they can in that moment. And most importantly, I am only ever speaking to Myself.
