  1. Hi Michael, Why is it that a thought which is observed tends to lose its control over us emotionally and simply fades away? Where as an unconscious one can cause so much pain in our minds and our emotions? So how can the act of observing nullify the power of the thought so quickly and powerfully?

  2. J.P.: When you observe a thought there is space between you and it… you see it is not you, but is appearing “in you,” and thus is not taken “personally.” But when you are unconscious there is no space, and so you identify with or “become” the thought. When this happens you go for a ride into whatever story the thought is projecting. This occurs until you are able to get some space between you and the thought, and once again see that it is not you but merely one limited perspective of the totality according to your mind, in that fleeting moment. 🙂

    • Fantastic! That’s really clear. Thanks again. 🙂
